Orange brings IPhone in Europe

IPhone 3G Edition brought by Orange in Europe

 

 Orange today announced plans to bring the iPhone to many more areas than its original French launch. The telecoms firm says it will launch the iPhone in areas that haven't yet been covered by previous carrier deals, including Belgium, Poland, Romania and Slovakia in Europe. The company will also bring the iPhone to the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean, Jordan in the Middle East, and the company's "Africa markets," according to the announcement.

 

The launch also includes overlapping coverage in nations that already have or will have carriers, including Austria, Egypt, Portugal, and Switzerland. 

Orange doesn't say when it expects any of the revealed countries to get the iPhone other than "later this year".
The Orange announcement is one of the largest single carrier announcements for the iPhone since the Vodafone unveiling earlier in the month and pushes the number of countries that will officially support the iPhone to beyond 40.

Orange also announced a new agreement with Apple to bring the iPhone to Orange customers in Austria, Belgium, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Jordan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland and Orange's African markets later this year.
